Where We Are
Castro is one of the many fractions that make up Montegallo, one of the communities located in the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini, in the heart of the region of Marche.
The park was created for the preservation of the nature, culture and historical identity of the Sibillini region, consequently, the region has remained unspoilt, tranquil and in harmony with the changing times
A few minutes car-ride away from Casa Girasole there are bars and restaurants where it is possible to savour some of the areas' specialities, such as porcini mushrooms, Ascoli-style stuffed olives, trout, lamb and wild boar.
In the area there are well-known places of interest to visit such as Amandola, Montefortino, Montemonaco, Castellucio and Arquata. Castro is approximately 30 km away from the well-preserved medieval town of Ascoli Piceno, and about 1 hours drive from the Adriatic Coast.
Rome is reachable by car, (approx 2hr 30mins) following the Via Salaria (SS4) and also by bus using the local transport service.
The coastal towns of Pescara and Ancona, with their International Airports, are reachable via the motorway A14.
